LCUSD’s Family Learning Series Presents: Jerry Kang - "The Way Forward: Transforming Perception" on April 29, 2021 at 6:30P.M.
Recent findings in experimental social psychology have demonstrated the existence of “implicit biases” - attitudes and stereotypes that we are neither aware of nor necessarily endorse. In this talk, Prof. Jerry Kang will survey the science of implicit biases with emphasis on real-world consequences in school systems. He will also discuss potential countermeasures. The learning objectives include greater awareness of implicit biases and how to counter them within individual and institutional contexts.

About Jerry Kang: Distinguished Professor of Asian American Studies, Kang holds the inaugural Korea Times Endowed Chair. He graduated manga cum laude from both Harvard College (physics) and Harvard Law School, where he was a supervising editor of the Harvard Law Review.
